Digital Pore Solutions delivers cutting-edge modeling and analysis services tailored to Oil & Gas, Hydrogen Storage, Carbon Sequestration, and SCAL Prediction, helping industries optimize performance and sustainability in complex subsurface environments.

At Digital Pore Solutions, we can leverage cutting-edge Digital Rock Technology (DRT) to analyze and predict multiphase flow functions of reservoir core plugs, such as relative permeability, capillary pressure curves, and recovery factors. Our DRT is particularly beneficial for heterogeneous rock samples as its superior computational efficiency enables simulations to be conducted on digital replicates with dimensions similar to those of rock samples used in physical laboratory experiments, thereby directly reflecting the local heterogeneity of the physical specimen.

We utilize our software suite to investigate the flow of natural hydrogen and brine in subsurface rock formations. This enables our clients to gain deep insights into hydrogen flow dynamics and potential leakage in subsurface reservoirs, helping to address key questions related to production forecasting. By leveraging DRT, we can simulate and analyze pore-scale fluid interactions, optimizing reservoir management strategies for more efficient and sustainable hydrogen production under a wide range of flow and saturation histories.

Geological sequestration of carbon dioxide (CO2) is particularly important as it provides a viable strategy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. By securely storing CO2 underground, geological sequestration helps mitigate climate change. The immobilization of CO2 plumes in geological formations, especially deep saline aquifers, is critical for ensuring the long-term security of sequestered CO2. At DPS, we aim to contribute to the advancement of the field by employing the DRT approach to investigate the dynamics of CO2-brine displacement and the resulting residual trapping in miniature-core-sized digital rocks.

In the absence of available core samples, DPS employs a workflow for stochastically generating digital replicates using representative pore networks extracted from micro-CT images of drill cuttings. By leveraging AI-assisted image processing and petrophysical analysis, the drill cuttings are screened and mapped to the targeted rock facies. Multiphase flow simulations can be performed on the generated digital cores to obtain predictions of SCAL data.
